Do you remember not too long ago when everyone, everywhere carried anti-bacterial hand sanitizer with them?  I do, I was one of them, a germaphobe.  I just heard there were LOTS of germs everywhere and we could all combat them and bring them down if we all joined together for a cleaner grocery cart ... or whatever needed to be ridded of germs.

Well "they" were wrong and so was I, but you never know what the outcome is going to be until it happens.  Now, according to WHO (the World Health Organization), our obsession with killing germs has resulted in antibiotic-resistant bacteria in all 4-corners of the globe.  That's scary.

Not too mention, hand sanitizer is rumored to be ineffective AND toxic!  Don't believe me, just google it, you'll see a slew of articles pop up from good sources like CNN, ewg.org and ChrisKresser amongst others.

So what's a germaphobe girl to do?  I've been using essential oils on their own for some time, but I thought I would come up with something a little easier to apply than just essential oil itself.  I checked out some recipes online, added a little here, took away a little there and ... voila - something that works for me and my family.  I know you'll like it too!

Recipe

3 TB aloe vera gel
2 TB witch hazel
1/8 tsp vitamin E oil
8-10 drops Protective Blend essential oil
3-4oz squeeze container
  • Mix all ingredients in small bowl
  • Combine in squeeze container
NOTE:  essential oils can be stored in plastic containers if they are highly diluted.
If you are looking for a good source for essential oils, look no further.  I've been using essential oils since 2009 - I've used all different brands and have finally found one that has made a difference for my family.  Contact me here to find out more.
